Therapy for CHILDHOOD issues, attachment, and relational trauma in nashville, tn

Therapy for childhood trauma

therapy for people who grew up too fast, carry too much, and are ready to put themselves first.

Despite being pretty good at doing it all, there is this nagging feeling that people around you don’t really know you. You feel disconnected, unfulfilled, depressed. Surely life is supposed to be more than this.

You’re still struggling with:

Anxiety & feeling drained after spending time with family; it sometimes feels like you’re the black sheep that doesn’t quite fit in

Noticing you hold people at arms length- even though you’ve always had it ‘all together’, it doesn’t feel like you’re been truly happy

Feeling reactive in relationships that do matter to you- either getting panicky and overwhelmed, or shutting down and going quiet

You learned how to survive early. You read rooms before you spoke. You became self-reliant and hyper-aware. You became the “strong one”.

Trauma therapy in nashville, tennessee

Trauma has a way of sneaking into so many different parts of our lives, sometimes without us even noticing. Trauma can affect our bodies, our relationships, and our lens through which we see the world around us. I provide trauma therapy in Nashville, TN for people who feel lost, stuck in repetitive patterns, and disconnected from themselves and others.

My work as a trauma therapist centers first and foremost on creating a safe, grounded container that allows for you to process the pain that may have been hidden in a box inside of you until now. Whether your trauma is related to attachment wounding, pregnancy and postpartum, relationship trauma, or a single overwhelming event, we will work together to find stability, witness your pain, and begin to heal.

My therapy office is in the Berry Hill neighborhood in South Nashville. I serve adults looking for an attachment and relational trauma therapist in person in Nashville or virtually across the state of Tennessee. If you are unsure if what you’ve experienced counts as “trauma”, feel free to reach out for a free consult and we can talk through how best to support you and what you need.

I’m here to help with:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a body based trauma therapy approach to healing past attachment and relational trauma, as well as single event trauma experiences.

  • Often with trauma, our brains and bodies feel very disconnected. I use somatic trauma therapy techniques integrated from sensorimotor psychotherapy, my training as a 200-hr yoga instructor, and current research on arousal regulation and neurobiology.

  • Attachment theory is more than just a quick Buzzfeed quiz- understanding your unique attachment history is nuanced, complex, and vital to helping you ultimately heal within and through relationships.

Do I have attachment trauma?

Attachment is nuanced and complex- understanding our ‘style’ is a great starting point, but just knowing it doesn’t result in change. We can work together to better understand your attachment system, and how to heal if attachment trauma is present in your story.
