“I like myself… as long as I maintain success / get it right / continue to do it all.”

Have you realized that your self worth is conditional?

In all honesty, you’re pretty good at keeping it all together. You’ve worked hard to achieve in your career, commit to a health goal, or balance a busy calendar. Maybe you find yourself being praised by family, friends, or colleagues for your goodness or commitment or performance.

But in the back of your mind, there is an awareness that maybe your self worth actually hinges on success itself. If you get negative feedback, the number on the scale changes, or you drop the ball, you have an inner critic that swiftly moves in to shame you. You might have conditional self worth- which can quickly dissolve into a painful relationship with yourself when life doesn’t go the way it should.

My clients are intellectualizers, perfectionists, and high-achievers trying to undo patterns of performance and step into real and lasting self compassion.

the process:

I offer in-person therapy at 416 E Iris Drive in Berry Hill Or virtual therapy in Tennessee; you chose what format feels best for you.

Contact me at the consult button to the right if you’d like to schedule a free, 15 minute consultation call to see if we would be a good fit.

  • This is a tough one to answer- length of treatment depends on your specific goals, which can sometimes change during our time together. I check in with my clients throughout the therapy process to see how things are going and if we need to re-evaluate how we are meeting your goals.

  • Though my preference is for in-person therapy if you can, sometimes due to distance or life obligations in person therapy is difficult. I accept limited virtual clients on a case by case basis, which we can figure out together on your free consultation call.

  • I do not operate from any one specific religious or spiritual lens in my counseling work. This allows me to care for a wider range of client perspectives; I have worked with folks aligned with all major world religions, people who identify as spiritual, those in the agonistic/athiest community, and clients somewhere in between all of it. Bring yourself exactly as you are. There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
